Shingonshu Juhachi Honzan (真言宗十八本山)
Shingonshu juhachi honzan is an organization consisting of the 18 Head Temples of schools in the Shingon sect. Although this organization was established for communication and adjustment between the schools of the sect, recently it has become known also as a popular pilgrimage route.
Summary
Shingonshu kakuha sodaihonzankai (group of head temples of each school of Shingon sect) places its office in the Chiseki-in, Grand head temple of Chisan school of Shingon sect in the Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City. The numbers in the list below are in the order of the fudasho (temples where amulets are collected) number.
